FINAL COMMUNIQUE/OUTCOME OF A ROUNDTABLE/PRESS CONFERENCE HELD AT THE CONFERENCE ROOM OF THE CENTER FOR CHINA STUDIES (CCS), ABUJA, NIGERIA ON THE 10TH OF JANUARY, 2022 ON THE TOPIC “INTERROGATING THE RECENT U.S SIGNING INTO LAW OF THE SO CALLED UYGHUR FORCED LABOUR PREVENTION ACT”.

The meeting was attended by persons from diverse circles, including resident scholars of the CCS, Visiting Scholars from Universities, Political Parties, representatives of civil society groups, Youth Organizations, and members of different media Organizations.

After extensive and unhindered deliberations, the meeting resolved and agreed that the U.S action in formulating a national law targeting another country is not only a vicarious provocations to the country targeted but in clear breach of International law and an affront to the United Nations and its mechanisms that have served creditably well as the foremost platform for International discourse and engagement.

The meeting observed that what was contained in the so-called law is the mere expressions of the ideological frustrations of the U.S ruling circles to contain China’s national development and roll back its global impact.

The meeting noted that for China’s consistent and unequivocal stance to advance new type of International relations characterized by inclusion, broad participation, equality of all stakeholders and evolving governance mechanism suitable to a multilateral global order under pinned by International law, hegemonic ruling U.S circles and their allies are rattled, worried at the audacity to promote democratization of International relations, which they have manipulated in the past to advance their narrow and selfish goals, such as regime change and unilateral punitive sanctions imposed to extract concessions.

The meeting noted that U.S belligerency especially towards China is to be expected and therefore, urged the international community to take notice of such action capable of plunging the world back to another cold war era characterized by uncertainty.

The meeting further observed that the leadership of the Peoples Republic of China and its core leadership of Communist Party of China (CPC) has fulfilled and continue to fulfill its responsibility to all her citizens with the latest been, the epic end of absolute poverty among its people.

The meeting noted that the fundamental Political System of China, which among other things features ethnic nationality equality is a major strength with which China has accomplished so much within a relatively short time and wondered where the U.S ruling circles invented the Phrase of “Forced Labour” something practiced by Imperialist powers including the United States in China before the modern China was founded in 1949.

The Communist Party of China was founded among other reasons on the banner of the dignity of labour and as a proletarian Party with a thorough Marxist Outlook, promoting and upholding the dignity of Labour is one of its major staying power.

To associate the government of the Peoples Republic of China led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) with practices relating to ‘Forced Labour’ is the highest point of the recklessness and rascality of U.S ruling Circles for which nothing is sacred in venting their ultra-ideological frustrations.

The Roundtable, which issued a press release which has been widely reported in Nigeria’s local media, urged the CPC leadership to maintain its steady momentum in advancing China’s development, continue its value-adding and existentially productive cooperation with African countries, and maintain always high-level vigilance as the U.S ruling circles would give vent to their ideological frustrations in other ways beyond issuing arcane and useless law.

The meeting urged African governments to speak up at the fabrications of the U.S ruling circles targeted at China with warnings that African

Countries could be next in line ideological finger-wagging of the U.S ruling Circles.
